Description: We present an approach to the algorithmic detection of Hopf bifurcations (and
thus of oscillations) in chemical reaction networks. It combines tools from
convex and real algebraic geometry with computational logic and stoichometric
network analysis. The paper describes a concrete software environment for
such computations and applies it to a number of classical examples. A number
of algorithmic improvements allows us to treat examples where before all
programmes failed. |
