News (not very often updated):
- The German Science Foundation (DFG) has approved the graduate
school Biological Clocks on Multiple Time Scale where I am one
of the PIs. For more information
- The article Singularities of
Algebraic Differential Equations (joint work with Markus
Lange-Hegermann, Daniel Robertz and Matthias Seiß) has appeared
in Advances in Applied Mathematics.
- Our articles An Involutive GVW
Algorithm and the Computation of Pommaret Bases (joint work
with Amir Hashemi, Thomas Izgin and Daniel Robertz)
and Relative Gröbner and
Involutive Bases for Ideals in Quotient Rings (joint work
with Amir Hashemi and Matthias Orth) published in the
journal Mathematics in Computer Science have now appeared in
- Our article Is the Diatom Sex
Clock a Clock? (joint work with Thomas Fuhrmann-Lieker, Roland
Klassen, Nico Kubetschek and Jonas Ziebarth) has been accepted for
publication in the Journal of the Royal Society Interface and
has already been published.
- The two articles Degree
Upper Bounds for Involutive Bases (written jointly with Amir
Hashemi and Hossein Parnian)
and A Logic Based Approach to
Finding Real Singularities of Implicit Ordinary Differential
Equations (written jointly with Matthias Seiß and Thomas
Sturm) published in Mathematics in Computer Science have finally
appeared in print.
- Sadly, my cooperation partner for about 30 years, Vladimir Gerdt,
died in January following complications of a Covid infection. Together
with Daniel Robertz, I am editing a special issue of Mathematics in
Computer Science for his memory - see
the Call for Papers. Daniel is
in honour of Vladimir within the next ISSAC conference and I will be one
of the speakers there.
- Our article No Chaos in Dixon's
System has appeared in the International Journal of
Bifurcation and Chaos.
- Our article Singular Initial
Value Problems for Quasi-Linear Ordinary Differential
Equations has appeared in
the Journal of Differential Equations.
- We have finished a new preprint on the complexity of Gröbner
bases titled Computation of
Macaulay Constants and Degree Bounds for Gröbner Bases
(joint work with Amir Hashemi and Hossein Parnian).
- Our paper Computing the
Resolution Regularity of Bi-Homogeneous Ideals has finally
appeared in the Journal of Symbolic Computation.
- Our paper On the
Numerical Analysis and Visualisation of Implicit Ordinary Differential
Equations has finally appeared in Mathematics in Computer
- Within the Erasmus programme, DAAD will be funding my cooperations
with Amir Hashemi (Isfahan University of Technology, Iran) and Vladimir
Gerdt (Joint Institute of Nuclear Research, Dubna, Russia).
- I am one of the plenary speakers at the
conference in Linz.
