Description: This informal paper outlines some of the basic ideas behind
involution. It discusses combinatorial decompositions of cones in the
monoid of multi indices and shows how this can be used to define both
involutive bases of polynomial ideals and involutive systems
of differential equations. Finally, some applications are sketched. |
