Computer Algebra in Mathematics Education

Here you can have a look at my Keynote Lecture Numeric versus Symbolic Computation at the International Conference Computeralgebra in Math-Education - Second International Derive Conference, St. Augustin, July 2-6, 1996, as well as at my Keynote Lecture Integralrechnung im Zeitalter der Computeralgebra at the Conference Computeralgebra im Mathematikunterricht - neue Technologien im mathematisch-naturwissenschaftlichen Unterricht, Münster, May 20-23, 1997.

Furthermore, I gave keynote lectures on Mathematics with DERIVE as Didactical Tool at the First Belgian Congress on Information Technology in Maths Education (T³ Symposium) in Brussels, May 20, 2000, and on Computeralgebraeinsatz in Deutschland at the Second MuPAD Workshop 2000, September 8-9, 2000. Finally I gave plenary talks on Mathematik mit DERIVE als didaktischem Hilfsmittel at the MNU Conference 2002, March 24-28, 2002, and on Algorithmen der Computeralgebra und Schulmathematik at the meeting Computeralgebra in Lehre, Ausbildung und Weiterbildung III, Schöntal, April 2-5, 2002.

First ISAAC Conference: Session on Computer Algebra and Orthogonal Polynomials, Plenary Talk

I was invited to present a plenary talk on Orthogonal Polynomials and Computer Algebra at the First ISAAC Congress, University of Delaware, Newark, Delaware, June 3-7, 1997.

IWOP '98: Numerical and Symbolic Algorithms, Plenary Talk

I was invited to give two plenary talks on Software for the Algorithmic Work with Orthogonal Polynomials and Special Functions at the International Workshop on Orthogonal Polynomials 98 which took place in Madrid from 29 June-2 July 1998.

Euro Summer School in Orthogonal Polynomials and Special Functions, Invited Speaker

I gave a five hour lecture on Computer Algebra Algorithms for Orthogonal Polynomials and Special Functions at the Euro Summer School in Orthogonal Polynomials and Special Functions, Leuven, Belgium, August 12-17, 2002.

On the meeting Computer Algebra in Scientific Computing CASC 2004 which took place in St. Petersburg, July 12-19, 2004, I was the Invited Speaker and presented a lecture on Computer algebra methods for orthogonal polynomials. Corresponding Maple worsksheet:

Conference Organization

I was organizing a session on Computer Algebra and Orthogonal Polynomials at the First ISAAC Congress, University of Delaware, Newark, Delaware, June 3-7, 1997. At the 3rd International ISAAC Congress, Berlin, August 20-25, 2001, I organized a session on Computer Algebra and Computer Analysis, jointly with Karin Gatermann.

I organized severel meetings in Thurnau, Schöntal and Schönenberg on Computeralgebra in Lehre, Ausbildung und Weiterbildung.

For Fachgruppe Computeralgebra Deutschland I organized the computer algebra conferences in 2003, 2005, 2009, 2012, 2014, 2017, 2019 in Kassel as well as a minisymposium at DMV-Tagung 2006, Bonn.

I was the General Chair of the Symposium ISSAC 2010, and between 2010 and 2019 PC Chair and conference proceedings co-editor of the conference series Computer Algebra in Scientific Computing, see CASC 2010, CASC 2011, CASC 2012, CASC 2013, CASC 2014, CASC 2015, CASC 2016, CASC 2017, CASC 2018 and CASC 2019.

In 2017 and 2018 I co-organized, jointly with Prof. Dr. Mama Foupouagnigni, two conferences on "Introduction to Computer Algebra and Applications" and "Introduction to Orthogonal Polynomials and Applications" which took place in Douala, Cameroon. Proceedings
